BMI=Body Mass Index
Weight in Kilograms/((Height in meters)*(Height in meters))
i.e. if you weigh 100 kg and you are 2 meters tall
BMI = 100/(2*2) = 25
Avoid fad diets!
Eat less, eat correctly and excercise!
MEAT:
Trim all visible fat from meat - eat very little red meat and no lamb/mutton at all - eat more chicken (free-range) without the skin.
FISH:
with Heart Foundation emblem only.
NUTS:
Eat nuts - but in moderation(like eveything else!)
Eat lots of FRESH fruit and FRESH vegetables.
Drink enough water - NOT TO MUCH!
Use only olive oil, for salads, and grape seed oil for frying, cooking.
AVOID:
ALL products that contain MSG, trans-fat and hydrogenated oil!
ALL processed foods!
Refined carbohydrates! Potatoes!
Fruit juices! - to concentrated.
Salad Dressings!
ALL instant anything - soups, sauces, noodles, etc!
If you have to eat:
PASTA - 100% durum wheat only.
RICE - Brown only - in moderation.
If it has to be WHITE RICE - long grain only - moderation.
Eat BROWN RICE in combination with LENTILS and BARLEY.
BREAD:
Brown bread is often worse than white bread. AVOID BOTH!
SUPPLEMENTS:
CALCIUM and MAGNESIUM - always take these two together.
FOLIC ACID.
